Itinerary
From ancient rock fortresses to misty tea hills and the warm Indian Ocean, this 7-day tour covers the essentials of Sri Lanka.
Once you arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will meet a representative from “Travel Nexus” who chauffeurs the entire tour. Then he will pick you up to drive you towards Pinnawala. At Pinnawala you can watch elephants in the orphanage where the orphaned and injured elephants are being looked after. Afterwards, you will be headed to Sigiriya rock fortress, one of Sri Lanka’s most fascinating UNESCO world heritage sites. Here, you will get the chance to climb to the summit of the rock fortress built by the maverick Sinhalese King, Kasyapa, to enjoy the spectacular view. At the end of the day, you will stay overnight in a hotel in Sigiriya.
After having breakfast you will check out of the hotel in Sigiriya, to start your journey to Dambulla where the Golden Rock Temple is situated. This is the famous cave temple in Dambulla which has a rock ceiling with a sweep of colorful frescos that depict Buddhist mythology and tales of previous incarnations of the Lord Buddha.
Then you will proceed to Kandy. There you can visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and a Gem Museum. After that you will have an entertaining evening when you can enjoy a dazzling Sri Lankan Cultural show.
On this day, you will spend the night in a hotel in Kandy.
This will be the day when you will proceed to Ella via Nuwara Eliya, after having breakfast and checking out from the hotel in Kandy.
On your way to tea growing hill country of Nuwara Eliya , you will get a chance to visit a tea factory where popular Sri Lankan tea is made and enjoy the picturesque view of green mountains.
When you reach Nuwara Eliya you can visit the surroundings by having a nice little walk in the town of Nuwara Eliya. Upon your choice, you can also take the chance to visit certain places like “Seetha Amman Kovil”, Moon plains or Hakgala Botanical Garden…etc.
Then you will proceed to Ella where you will be checked into a hotel and stay overnight.
After having an early breakfast, you will check out of the hotel in Ella to visit Nine Arch Bridge and Ravana waterfalls.
Then you will be driven towards Yala, where you will explore the wildlife in Sri Lanka. There you will be taken on a game-drive in an open-sided safari vehicle in Yala National Park where you can observe leopards, elephants and crocodiles and many endemic bird species in their homes made of forest, grassland, and lagoons.
Afterwards, you will proceed to Galle where you spend the night in a hotel.
On this day, you will check out of the hotel in Galle after having breakfast and then you will have a tour to the famous Galle Fort.
After that you can have a boat safari in “Madu Ganga”, a large freshwater lake and a mangrove swamp in Sri Lanka which is a natural habitat for many plant species, animal species and bird species. Due to its rich biodiversity, you will enjoy this scenic boat ride.
Then, on your way to Bentota you will take a visit to a turtle hatchery. At the end of the day, you will check into a hotel in Bentota where you will stay overnight.
After having breakfast from the hotel, you will visit some places in the surroundings of Bentota such as “Kande Vihara Temple”. Then you can have the joy of engaging in some water sports upon your choice such as water skiing, snorkeling, diving, jet skiing, kite surfing…etc.
Afterwards, you can spend a relaxing evening at your leisure and spend the night there.
This will be the end of your journey and our chauffer guide will safely drive you back to the airport.
