Itinerary
For nature enthusiasts, this tour features white water rafting, elephant safaris, leopard spotting, and whale watching.
Once you arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will meet a representative from “Travel Nexus” who chauffeurs the entire tour. Then he will drive you towards the southwest coast of Sri Lanka which is filled with golden sandy beaches. Once you reach there, you can have a boat safari in “Madu Ganga”, a large freshwater lake and a mangrove swamp in Sri Lanka which is a natural habitat for many plant species, animal species and bird species. Due to its rich biodiversity, you will enjoy this scenic boat ride. Then, you will take a visit to a turtle hatchery. At the end of the day, you will check into a hotel in Hikkaduwa where you will stay overnight.
Next day, you will checkout of the hotel to go for the first event of this day, whale watching, one of the most exciting water activities in the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. If you are lucky, you will be able to see the blue whales and dolphins during your watching tour.
Then you will be taken for scuba diving and snorkeling when you can explore the beauty of corals and thousands of colorful fish.
Afterwards, you will proceed to Yala, where you will check into a hotel and spend the night.
After having an early breakfast, you will check out of the hotel to explore the wildlife in Yala National Park. There you will be taken on a game-drive in an open-sided safari vehicle in Yala National Park where you can observe leopards, elephants and crocodiles and many endemic bird species in their homes made of forest, grassland, and lagoons.
Then you will be heading towards Ella. Enroute will include visiting the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home where you can observe how the orphaned elephants are being milk- fed and taken care of.
At the end of the day, you will spend the night in a hotel in Ella.
On this day, firstly you will check out of the hotel after having breakfast to visit Nine Arch Bridge and Rawana falls.
Then you will proceed towards the tea-growing hill country of Nuwara Eliya while you can enjoy the picturesque view of green mountains. Once you reach Nuwara Eliya you will take a tour in “Horton Plains National Park”. The plains vegetation consists of grasslands interspersed with montane forest which includes many endemic plants to the region. You will enjoy the view of rich biodiversity here as it is also a natural habitat for many endemic animal and bird species.
Then you will stay overnight in a hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
Next day, you will have an early breakfast and check out of the hotel to proceed towards Kitulgala, to have a day filled with adventures and hikes.
In Kitulgala, you will get the chance for white water rafting where you can ride the tides of Kelani River. Apart from this you can engage in some activities like canyoning, cycling, waterfall abseiling, zip lining…etc. upon your choice. You can also discuss with your chauffer guide to make necessary arrangements if you want to go for a hike.
At the end of the day, you will be taken to a hotel in Sinharaja where you can spend the night.
After having breakfast from the hotel, you will be taken to explore Sinharaja Forest Reserve, a tropical rainforest in Sri Lanka which is a hotspot of biodiversity. It has a dense vegetation and acts as a natural habitat for many birds, butterflies, amphibians, snakes…etc. species. This tour will be a nature lover’s dream as you will be able to observe different types of flora, fauna, and wildlife here.
After having the tour, you will spend the rest of your day at your leisure and stay overnight in the hotel.
This will be the end of your journey, so that your chauffer guide will drive you back to the airport safely.
