Once you arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will meet a representative from
“Travel Nexus” who chauffeurs the entire tour.
Then our tour guide will drive you to your first destination, the ancient city of Anuradhapura,
the 1st capital of early Ceylon. The rest of the day you can visit the well-preserved remnants
of ancient Sri Lankan history including palaces, Dagabos, monasteries and the temple of the
sacred Bo-tree.
At the end of the day, you will spend the overnight in a hotel in Anuradhapura
On this day, firstly, you will check out of the hotel in Anuradhapura, after having breakfast.
Then you will visit some of the museums in Anuradhapura and then you will be taken to visit
the famous “Isurumuni Royal Temple” and “Ranmasu Uyana” This is a Buddhist Temple situated near to “Tisa Tank” which hosts the special carvings like “Isurumuniya Lovers”,
“Elephant Pond” and “The Royal Family”.
Then you can visit “Mihintale”, another mountain peak which is known as the birthplace of
Budhhism in Sri Lanka. There are numerous religious monuments and abandoned structures
which depict the arrival of Buddhism to Sri Lanka by Buddhist Monk “Mihindu Maha
Rahathan”.
Afterwards, you will be heading towards Polonnaruwa where you will stay overnight.
After having breakfast and checking out of the hotel in Polonnaruwa, you are going to explore
the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, another capital of early Ceylon during the prosperous
medieval kingdom. Here you will see the ancient ruins and excavations of temples, royal
palaces, museums…etc. which demonstrate great Sri Lankan architecture.
Then you will proceed to Sigiriya and check into a hotel where you can spend the night.
After having an early breakfast from the hotel, you will go to visit the famous Sigiriya rock
fortress, one of Sri Lanka’s most fascinating UNESCO world heritage sites. Here, you will get
the chance to climb to the summit of the rock fortress built by the maverick Sinhalese King,
Kasyapa, to enjoy the spectacular view.
Then you will be taken for a visit to a traditional village in Habarana where you can observe
the real traditional Sri Lankan village life, engaging in some activities with folks to gain
experience, riding a Bullock cart around the village and rowing a traditional boat.
At the end of the day, you will spend the night in the same hotel in Sigiriya.
On this day, firstly, you are going to check out of the hotel from where you get breakfast, and
then you will proceed to Dambulla where the Golden Rock Temple is situated. This is the
famous cave temple in Dambulla which has a rock ceiling with a sweep of colorful frescos that
depict Buddhist mythology and tales of previous incarnations of the Lord Buddha.
Then your tour guide will drive you to Kandy, via Matale. Enroute will include visiting some
spice gardens too.
Once you reach Kandy, you will be checked into a hotel where you spend the night
After having breakfast from your hotel, you will visit “Sri Dalanda Maligawa” which is
commonly called the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy. This is a world heritage site which
plays a major role in local politics as it is believed that whoever holds the Relic holds the
country’s governance.
Then you can have a visit to a Gem Museum in Kandy and afterwards, you will have an
entertaining evening when you can enjoy a dazzling Sri Lankan Cultural show.
At the end of the day, you will spend the night in the hotel in Kandy
This will be the end of your journey and our chauffer guide will safely drive you back to the
airport.
